Day 21: Nothing

Nothing's been done for the last 2 weeks. We still haven't got the piers & slab done yet. Guess the weather been too wet for them to be able to do it. Hopefully we'll get a bit more of sunshine the next few days so that they can start work again.

Day 7: Pipes, Drainage, Meter Box & Retaining Wall

Work is continuing, they've now installed the Meter Box, Retaining Wall, Drainage & Pipes.

Luke the SS called me & told me that they are going to do the piering this week & Slab to be poured either on Monday/Tuesday, weather permitting. Followed by meeting on site after the slab has been poured.

Day 3: Temp Fence, Temp Toilet & Cage for Rubbish

Temporary fence is up today. Temporary toilet & cage for rubbish are also delivered.

Day 1: Site Start

Finally we have commencement of building work. Work to be completed within 160 days of today, fingers crossed it will be before Christmas.

Slab Drawing & site start

Drawing for the Slab. We'll have 42 piers under the slabs. The 2nd soil test confirmed that our soil is one of the worst there is.


Got a call from Luke, the building supervisor. Site start will be Mon 26/07/10, weather permitting. Concrete is scheduled to be poured on Mon 09/08/10, weather permitting.

A Start Soon?

Porter Davis has updated status on the 24/7 Portal. Council permit received & Administration Completed. Hope they will commence building very soon.

Asphalt & second soil test

The asphalt used to cover the footpath after Jemena did the Under Ground Pit sunk (see photo below). Trying to get them to replace the asphalt with reinforced concrete.



PD has received the result of 2nd soil test & the engineering department is working on it. They are also applying for the permit soon, so hopefully we'll have a site start within the next week or two.
